Tale.Dev: Beta 1.0

Tale.Dev concept: a web-based reimagining of the classic storytelling card game "Dixit", adapted for interactive play through browsers. This early test-version is designed as a single-device interface, allowing multiple players to participate by sharing a single device.

The current build focuses on validating our core gameplay logic, card handling algorithms, and state management. While multiplayer networking and downloadable Android/iOS applications are planned for future iterations, this release serves as a testing ground for our UI/UX flow, rule enforcement, and device compatibility across mobile devices.

Feel free to experiment with the interface and provide anonymous feedback to help guide development.

Game Rules

Each round begins with a Storyteller, a rotating role in which the player selects one card from their hand and offers a cryptic clue. This clue can be anything from a single word or phrase to a sound; just enough to be suggestive, but not too obvious.
This chosen card, placed face down, is then joined by one card from each other player's hand, selected to also fit the Storyteller's clue, aiming to blend in or subtly mislead. All these submitted cards are shuffled and laid out, face-up, for the guessing to begin.

Storyteller's points:
If everyone or no one guesses your card → 0 points. If some (but not all) guess right → 2 points. If only one guesses right → 3 points.
Other players:
Guess the right card → 3 points. Fool others into choosing your card → 1 point per vote. Your card gets no votes and you guessed wrong → 0 points.

18+ Twist

Storyteller:
If everyone or no one guesses your card → you drink!
If only one person guesses right → give out 3 sips
Other Players:
Tricked someone into picking your card? → give out 1 sip per vote
Got no votes and guessed wrong? → ...drink
